We ate some grub at The Secret Six Tavern. Everyone got burgers and I got a steak sandwich. It was good, but we waited forever. We assumed they were killing the cow in the back! After that, we went by their fav ice cream place Nutters which was too busy to stop. The line was ridiculous! We also drove by Shephard which is the college that Leslie coaches at. Beautiful campus. Aaron wanted to see the Antietam battlefield so we drove there too. We only stayed w them one night but we had a great time!
Today we drove the 90 mins to DC! Our hotel however was in Alexandria, VA. So we figured we would just drive to a metro station, park and head into the Capitol. So Aaron gets us checked in-- they let us check in at 11:30! Thank you extended stay! And Aaron comes back all excited. The guy at the desk gave us a FREE one day metro pass-- unlimited use! Um what what?
Today we became official library members of the library of congress (yes I am an absolute nerd!). Best part about getting the cards were the two lovely ladies working the get a card area. The first one mumbled so badly I had no idea what she said. The second was quite "friendly". You would think us getting library cards was an inconvenience for her. Sorry dear. I didn't mean to make you do your job which may I include has bankers hours. Ridiculous. So I look a little off in my pic bc I held the smile for so long. She just snapped it. Didn't tell me she was taking it. However, after this we headed to the Main Reading Room-- as in the one from national treasure 2. The architecture was gorgeous. I could've stayed there for hours. And no pics in the room so I couldn't even share this with all of you!
We then proceeded to the Native American museum, which was not really interesting. We then went to the Freer museum which had Asian art. The long silk scrolls that had all ink drawings were gorgeous!
So since this trip there were not 1,000,000,000 school trips (just 500,000,000), I figured let's hit the archives. I would love to see the deceleration of independence! Um... Line was around the building! So needless to stay: "ain't nobody got time for that!"
So we found some good beer places instead! We had a round at Gordon Birsch and then took the free metro rode to the Bier Baron. So delicious! We did come back about 8 bc I had to finish my homework. It wasn't due til Monday but I want to enjoy Baltimore and philli without worrying about it!

Cute pictures, guys! Jealous you got to see Katie and Leslie. DC is so much fun. Chad and I went there for NYE one year and while it was a weird choice, it was an absolute blast! Bet Aaron loves all the history there! Maybe if you have time, Aaron can give you a tour of Fenwick island or Ocean City while you are in Maryland! Do it, Aaron!!!
