Night adventure and Baltimore Day 1 6/14

So, DC was fabulous! And everything was going great. I got my homework done for my class. I'm way ahead of the game (which can change so quickly). We go to bed all comfy and then waking us up out of a dead sleep is...the fire alarm! After it keeps going off we finally decide to leave the building. I'm blind as a bat w no contacts in and in shorts and a tank top. It has to be 60 out. Aaron was quite the gentleman and went back to get our wallets, phones and car key bc my glasses are in the car. About fifteen minutes later, the fire truck comes. Don't worry gentlemen. Take your time. Luckily it turned out to be.. Actually we don't know. At that time I could have cared less. I was just happy my stuff didn't burn down (see earlier comment about how my HW was done) and I could go back to sleep. That was our night adventure.

Bringing us to Friday morning. We got a quick workout in (impressed???) and ate a small breakfast. We were off to Baltimore for two nights. Continuing our trend of staying out of downtown while using public transit, we are staying by the BWI airport. Free shuttle to the light rail station and only $3.20 for the whole day on the metro. Hello cheap!

But let's do a little taking about the metro. DC busy, pretty clean and lovely advertisements about the medical colleges and tennis tournaments. Now let's talk Baltimore. Super clean, which surprised me. And advertisements-- can you say ridiculous? Of course I attached pics below. But let me give you a quick recap. One fully advertising WIC. I was like what? And the 2nd was about not trying to have your kid early. It basically was saying dont try to go into labor before 39 wks. And all I could wonder was: are many people in Baltimore trying to force their own labor??? This was very confusing and odd.

But downtown was great. We visited the civil war museum and African American museum. Unfortunately, the Jewish museum is closed Friday and Saturdays!! And no that was not a joke. There is a Jewish museum and I wanted to see it. We also visited the harbor and Camden yards (Orioles stadium) during day time. Hit a brewery for lunch but had NO beer. How was that shocker?

Did go to another Ale house- Platt Dt Ale House which had delicious beers. You didn't  think we would go two bars without did you?? Then we found this great place called sliders for dinner. Good food but LOUD! However it was right across the street from the stadium and cheap!

We finished the evening w game at Camden yards. The Os were playing the BoSox (boooooo). The field is amazing as is the whole area. We had the cheapie seats and snuck down to lower seats after the 2nd inning! Cruised back in from the metro and just relaxing now! One more day in Baltimore. More ridiculous advertisements to read and museums to see!
